Worm Farming

The children at Dragonfly's Early Learning at Coolum Beach had fun last week starting their worm farm. The children are thrilled to be able to start this new project.

These young children have been made very aware of their impact on the environment and ways to minimize this impact at a very early age. It is something that we, at Dragonfly's Early Learning at Coolum Beach introduce to our little Dragonflies.

Early childhood practitioners have a powerful window of opportunity in assisting young children and families to understand sustainability issues, concepts and practices.

This intentional focus on sustainability provides the platform in which the educator and child can have engaged conversations in relation to sustainability measures that promote learning.

At Dragonfly's Early Learning at Coolum Beach we are committed to encouraging open discussion and practice sustainability where ever possible. We combine this with our need for enriched soil for our gardens

Here we see these little Dragonflies feeding the food scraps from their lunches to the worm farm
