Why Threading?

Threading is a much-loved activity with the little ones. This activity helps children develop the fine motor skills required to be able to draw, write, do up buttons, tie shoelaces, open lunch boxes and more!

Threading also helps to develop hand-eye coordination as well as concentration skills. In this activity, they can also develop language skills and colour recognition as they name the colours.

I am sure that many of you would have seen, or indeed worn, the beautifully created coloured macaroni necklaces that our children proudly bring home for us to wear.

This is all part of the threading activities often done at many kindrgartens to help develop these very important aspects of learning
