We Love Circles

When introducing shapes, it is easy to start with the world around you. Talking to the children about what is around them can help them to recognise shapes in the environment.

Outdoor chalkboards provide a great outdoor play area and educational space where children can learn and create.

Last week, the children at Dragonfly's Early Learning at Coolum Beach, took time to unleash their creativity and use the outdoor chalkboards to learn about recognising circles.

This was an opportunity to enhance their fine motor skills while developing shape recognition. The children drew a variety of shapes but circles recognition was the aim.

This was another example of how easily play can become learning
