The Educators at Dragonfly's Early Learning at Coolum Beach love to encourage children to play outdoors. Water is an important natural material and water play provides many hours of absorbing fun and a multitude of developmental opportunities across all age groups

Children enhance gross motor skills by running, kicking, carrying, pouring and splashing. It's a great way for kids to let off steam!

Fine motor skills and hand-eye co-ordination are constantly refined and developed by strengthening hand and eye muscles during water play

Water play is very emotionally therapeutic. Children find water play both calming and invigorating. Children can lose themselves in the therapeutic repetition of gentle water play which is why children will literally sit and become engrossed for hours when playing with water.

Children learn to play with others during water play. They are so engrossed in what they are doing, they automatically become socially connected, take turns and share without thinking about it.

Look at the smiles on these happy little faces!
