The Skill of Concentration with "Tongue Power"

The Educators at Dragonfly's Early Learning at Coolum Beach take every opportunity to encourage the children to develop new skills. The idea of hand-eye coordination is the ability to use both our muscles and our vision in tandem

The ability to do this requires the development of visual skills like visual accuracy, along with the development of muscular skills.

Hand-eye coordination may seem like something that you are either born with or you are not. However it can also be a learned skill. All sports require good hand-eye coordination so it is beneficial to begin to develop this skill at an early age particularly where the inherent ability appears to be absent.

There are lots of ways to encourage the development of these skills and below, we see just one of them. He's having fun while he learns!

Threading takes a great deal of concentration. It works better if you have your tongue out!
