The Joy of Painting in the Outdoors

The idea of painting in the outdoors brings great joy and creativity to our children.

Typically, painting involves painting on a horizontal surface. Easel painting on the other hand, involves painting on a vertical surface

There are lots of advantages to painting on vertical surfaces. In children and their developing bodies, this helps to develop physical skills like strengthening shoulders and elbows while developing core strength.

Painting vertically also involves crossing the midline. This is the ability to perform a task on the opposite side of the body which plays a huge role in skills such as, writing, dressing and undressing and reading. It also enables children to develop their hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.

Incidental to this....they love I!!!!
