Sleep, Rest and Relaxation
Sleep is essential for baby and toddler growth and learning.
As in all areas of development, there are differences in children's need for sleep, rest, and relaxation. Across the first 3 years of life, there is a wide variation in the timing and duration of daily naps. Sleep needs can also change from day to day, often depending on what has happened the day or night before or maybe if they are unwell.
Maintaining regular sleep patterns is crucial to supporting healthy development and learning in the early years. At Dragonfly's Early Learning at Coolum Beach, we find ways to support the amount and regularity of the sleep needs of our little ones.
All children are given the opportunity to rest their bodies. Some children fall asleep while others just enjoy quiet time and resting their bodies.
