Delving into Sensory Play

Playing in the sandpit is an incredible tool to help children develop skills that go far beyond sensory learning.

There are basically no rules when children are playing with sand. They can dig holes in it, they can build with it, pretend with it, sift with it and scoop it. Their imaginations can run wild!

Sand play not only promotes physical development but also social development. When children work together in the sandpit, they are faced with real problems that require discussing, sharing, compromising and negotiating.
