Rainy Week ....Outdoor Rain Play

A little light rain and some play in the wet can actually be really good for children's physical and mental development

When playing in wet conditions, children are investigating, exploring, and enjoying a slippery world. This play uses a different set of physical challenges from a dry world.

This also helps them to connect with all the weather conditions offered by Mother Nature.

It is good to look at wet weather play as an open experience that allows them to explore nature in a totally different way. Keep them safe. Dress them appropriately, plan their activities and offer them wet weather resources like buckets and spades to heighten their wet weather experience then take them outside on an adventure.

Wet weather play is something that children should be given the opportunity to participate in to allow them to experience their everyday environment under completely different conditions. It encourages them to think outside the box with activities that they would normally find easy under dry conditions but conditions are very different in the wet.

Sometimes, they are a little bit timid and unsure until they get into it! So much fun to be had
