How Special is One on One Time?

Updated: Aug 26

Last week at Dragonflys Early Learning, the focus was on language skills.

A great way to focus on language skills is through stories. When educators share engaging stories with children, it provides numerous opportunities for language learning. Educators can use storytelling as an opportunity to focus on listening skills, vocabulary, grammar and understanding.

When children are frequently exposed to stories, they quickly build a stronger vocabulary, use more complex sentences, and show more highly developed comprehension of the language. The favourite books that they read and the characters they get to know become like their friends.

Amazingly, they develop stronger confidence levels and they cope with feelings and language in a much more advanced way as well as learning to pay attention and actively listen to their Educator as the story is told. This introduces them to the thoughts and understanding of others.

They also enjoy one-on-one close-up time!!
