Ocean creatures

By understanding more about the ocean and its creatures and how we interact with it as humans, children will learn to care for and protect the ocean and its creatures so that it will be a better place not only for the sea creatures but for them also.

All children have an innate curiosity about the world around them and the ocean is one large part of it, in fact, taking up more than 70% of the earth's surface. Children are avid learners so it is important to introduce the oceans and their creatures to them at an early age.

Preschoolers should be able to recognise and identify different species of common ocean creatures. They should be able to share a few details about various ocean creatures like the fact that some creatures are large predators like sharks and killer whales while others are shy marine creatures that frequent the ocean floor.

How do sea animals benefit them? It regulates our climate and weather patterns. The ocean produces over half of the world's oxygen and absorbs more than 50 times more carbon dioxide than our atmosphere. It also regulates our climate and weather patterns.

They quickly learn how important the ocean and its creatures are to the world
