We, at Dragonfly's Early Learning, recognise that learning maths in the early years, is an important part of learning for all children and receiving a good grounding in maths is an essential life skill.

Children learn the meaning of counting by using counting skills in a variety of meaningful situations. Start with counting small numbers, up to five objects. Once children can count reliably their knowledge of the number sequence can be extended to count both forwards and backwards, from any given number

Here at Dragonfly's Early Learning, these little Dragonflies are beginning their counting skills

They each have their numbers and they begin by counting out stones and placing them on their numbers. As you can see, this really requires a concentrated effort
