Number Recognition through Bingo

At Dragonfly's Early Learning at Coolum Beach, we are all about making learning fun.

This past week, we have started looking at our Numbers. Children need a lot of practice in number recognition in the early stages, before they are competent at this

Learning to count with understanding is a crucial number skill. An intuitive sense of number begins at a very early age. Children begin by counting the numbers in a small group of objects. By the age of 2, most children can recognize one, two and three objects. As their mental powers develop, by the age of about 4 years they can recognize groups of 4 without even counting.

Games can be very useful for reinforcing and developing number skills. Kindergarten maths games like Bingo are the perfect way to engage young learners and have them practice their skills as they play the game. This is an addictive "fun" way to practice number recognition and the children "love" it! Look at the sneaky little self-satisfied smile on this little one's face!! So clever!!!

They love it and they love the sense of self-achievement that an activity like this can bring.
