Never Underestimate Fun to be had with a Ball

A ball is a classic toy that can be traced back to the beginning of civilisation.

Parents are continually on the lookout for the latest trends in toys and games but never underestimate the fun that can be had with a ball. The old phrase "We're having a ball" had to come from somewhere!

As well as being a lot of fun, balls provide lots of development opportunities. Experts recommend engaging in ball play as early as possible. textured balls stimulate their sense of touch. Coloured balls help to introduce children to recognise colours. Playing with smaller balls encourages children to pick the ball up with one hand and to throw that ball.

Playing with balls makes physical activity fun. Ball play helps them to master individual skills such as kicking, throwing, catching, aiming, rolling and bouncing. Social skills come into play also as children communicate with each other and begin to learn games to be played with balls.

At Dragonfly's Early Learning at Coolum Beach we focus on play that will encourage both physical and intellectual growth. what fun it is to play with balls!!!
