Welcome Miss Annemarie!
Ever since she was young it was always Miss Annemarie's dream to work with children. She moved to Australia from Switzerland in 1993, leaving behind 4 sisters and 3 brothers as well as her parents. She speaks two languages, English and German. She has been married to her husband Peter for over 30 years, has a son Mike and a granddaughter Isabella May whom she adores. She rescued a silky terrier from Townsville called Molly and she rescued a cat called Luna from the RSPCA at Noosa. You will often see her at the RSPCA volunteering.
Annemarie finds joy in working with children because as she says, "They are like my little family." She is especially passionate about programs that support children on the Autism spectrum and went back to school to qualify to do more for these little ones.
She loves to cook with children so that they have a healthy understanding of food. As she is preparing and cooking the food, she will talk about nutrition and where different foods come from. She often creates experiments with the children, allowing them to touch, smell, feel, and taste differences in food. We were blessed to have Miss Annemarie set up our Cafe recently which has been a big hit.
She is also often found singing and having fun with the children. Miss Annemarie says it is extremely important that they feel loved whilst they are here in our care.
Dragonfly's is Miss Annemarie's happy place.
