Let's Learn to Ride a Bike

At Dragonfly's Early Learning at Coolum Beach, our Educators incorporate and practice as many skills as possible in their daily routines.

Kindergarten children learn to master physical skills and have the opportunity to master bike riding skills each day.

Although children don't realise it, these exercises are really important as they help develop children's physical skills in muscle strength, and coordination.

Social skills like turn-taking are also practiced. Turn-taking is a valuable skill for making friends, being patient, waiting, negotiating, and problem-solving. Children need opportunities to practice.

When learning about turn-taking, other skills like using a timer, singing a song, or counting to a desired number come into play, and can be useful in helping children predict when their turn will start or finish.

Above all, bike riding gives them an opportunity to enjoy a sense of wellbeing, play outdoors, and is an opportunity to have fun!!!
