Sensory Play with Ice and Jelly

Sensory Play is a type of play that activates and stimulates a child's senses.

Sensory play with ice and jelly focuses on stimulating touch, sight, and hearing. Sensory play gives the children the opportunity to explore, problem-solve, be creative and to stimulate curiosity.

Eyes are very important organs of sense. Up to 80% of all impressions are perceived by means of sight. To include colour in sensory play is an advantage a the children are able to recognise that both ice and jelly are cold to the senses but they feel different because the blue jelly is not just cold but also slippery

Children process information through their senses. In this case, the senses of touch and sight are in frequent use.

Sensory play helps build nerve connections in the brain and encourages the development of language and fine motor skills

This sensory play was lots of fun but.......very cold little fingers!!!
