How the Kangaroos got their Tails
Children love a story and the children at Dragonfly's Early Learning at Coolum Beach are no different. Last week they learnt about how the kangaroo got its tail
This indigenous book is based on a story told by George Ming Mung Lirrmiyarriof the Kija people.
This story was first told to the aboriginal children living in Turkey Creek in Western Australia in an effort to keep the indigenous folk lore alive and has now been made into a beautiful children's book
The children at Dragonfly's Early Learning at Coolum Beach have been introduced to indigenous stories of the Gubi Gubi/Kabi Kabi people who were the first inhabitants of the Maroochy Area which includes the Coolum Beach area.
For over 20,000 years the Gubbi Gubbi/Kabi Kabi people have hunted in the surrounding ranges, fished the rivers and gathered seafood from the ocean.
These children loved having storytime in the beautiful shady Kindy yard
