Fostering Inquisitive Minds

Last week the Kindergarten Children had an opportunity to investigate problems in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) They were encouraged to explore, investigate and tinker with an old CD player.


Children initially use their senses to explore the physical properties of things around them. They tinker as they take things apart, put things back together, figure how things work and attempt to build and make creations using tools


When they are faced with a problem, children ask questions, make plans, work together, test their ideas, solve problems, and share their ideas and creations with others.

These are the thinking processes and actions that scientists and engineers use


This exercise gave them hours of tinkering"fun"
