Why is the grass green? Who made the galaxy? Why do I have to eat my broccoli? Most parents and educators of small children will recognise these or similar questions.
Encouraging children to ask questions is one of the best things you can do to create imaginative, effective, and lifelong learners Curiosity in young children is essential because it helps them understand the world around them and supports their learning.
Children who are encouraged to be curious will become more effective learners and it is how they find out and learn about the world around them Having lots of things for children to investigate, things like pots and pans, jugs and bowls can be effective in encouraging that curiosity. At Dragonfly's Early Learning at Coolum Beach, we encourage curiosity by actively pursuing activities to boost this curiosity. We love lots of questions!!!
