Easy Self Saucing Butterscotch Pudding

This is just the right weather for a self-saucing pudding. Many of you will remember it's one as most people's Grandma made this very old dessert. Try this one for your family
1/4 cups of self-raising flour
1/3 cup of brown sugar
2 tablespoons of golden syrup
1/2 cup milk
100g of butter melted
1 1/2 tablespoons of cornflour
3 tablespoons of golden syrup
1 cup of brown sugar
2 cups of boiling water
Preheat oven to 170C
Grease a deep casserole or baking dish with butter
In a bowl, add flour and sugar, mix to combine.
In a jug or bowl add egg, golden syrup, milk, and melted butter, whisk to combine.
Pour into dry ingredients and mix to combine.
Pour and spread evenly into prepared dish.
In a jug, add cornflour, golden syrup, and sugar. Mix to combine,
Pour in the boiling water and mix to combine.
Using a large metal spoon, pour the sauce over the back of it and over the batter.
Cover with a lid or foil and bake for 40-45 mins or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.
Leave to sit for 5-10 mins for the sauce to thicken.
Serve with a drizzle of cream or ice cream.
