Cooking is Fun

Introducing children to the kitchen and cooking skills at an early age can help them to lay the foundation for healthy eating habits. Not only that but when children are continually exposed to the kitchen and cooking, they soon develop an "I can do that" mentality and become so much more confident in making food. Continued development can see them working toward making their own breakfast before school in the not too distant future. It is so good for them and their development. They develop basic maths concepts along the way by doing something so simple as counting eggs or pouring water into a measuring cup

The children at Dragonfly's Early Learning at Coolum Beach get lots of practice

Last week the Kindy children made banana nice cream by blending frozen bananas and almond milk.

The children set the table then washed their own dishes, developing really good self help skills and a sense of agency and responsibility for our community.

Well done Kindy Kids!!!
