Cooking: Fruity Scones
This week the children at Dragonfly's Early Learning at Coolum Beach cooked sultana scones. The children love to cook and there is always an air of excitement when it is their turn to cook. They looked amazing and they were delicious!!!! They loved them!!


Fruity Scones
Ingredients
1 cup sultanas
3 cups SR flour
1 cup milk
1 cup thickened cream
little extra flour
Jam to serve
extra cream to serve
Method
Preheat oven to 200C
Prepare scone tray with greased baking paper
Sift flour into a bowl
Add sultanas.
Stir, making sure that sultanas are covered with flour
Combine milk and cream
Add to flour and stir with a blunt knife to mix
Turn mixture onto a floured board.
Sprinkle with flour
Knead into a rounded shape about 3cm thick
using a scone cutter cut into shapes
Place on the tray close together
Bake in a hot oven for 10 -12 minutes or till nicely browned on top
Cool a little then serve with jam and cream
