Can I help you?

Updated: Feb 5

Children have a drive to be independent and do things on their own. This is a healthy part of normal child development. As they grow and develop, they learn to do more and more for themselves.

it can be faster and less messy to do things for children but in order to help them become independent, they need to be encouraged to take responsibility for themselves whenever possible. They learn so much more from doing things for themselves

When children practice self help skills they develop their large and small motor skills and gain confidence in their ability to try new things and build their self esteem and pride in their independence

At Dragonfly's Early Learning at Coolum Beach, we encourage the children to help themselves. This little one is so happy to be washing the dishes....helping AND playing with water. What else could a girl want????

This little guy has it all. He has taken himself to bed for a nap with his teddy and his bottle. What more could a man want???

It takes some concentration to apply your own sunscreen. So clever!!
