A Balancing Act

At Dragonfly's Early Learning at Coolum Beach, our Toddlers are loving the outdoors and enjoying time to climb all over their obstacle course.

Climbing over and under obstacles encourages improvement and refinement of muscular skills as children build strength in their hands, wrists, shoulders, and core muscles.

Using both wooden and soft play obstacles when building the course, caters for and encourages the various stages and areas of motor development, promoting coordination abilities, balancing skills, and strengthening our muscles.

Sitting, rolling, kneeling, crawling, climbing, walking, running, and jumping are all activities that employ the use, movement and practice of the gross motor muscles. These types of skills are automatically used when children are provided with independent free play activities on an outdoor obstacle course.
